I am thinking about looking at my culture and identity and my placement as full Samoan New Zealand born female. How i fit into my culture? Where? When? My key word for this project will be Plastic. Growing up i've always felt left out not knowing my language nor my culture. I wasn't brought up in the Fa'a Samoa way in my house hold. So it has been different for me growing up as a child. Most of my cousins have gained the opportunity to learn the language and the culture in their household. I want to use photography to look at me, myself and what i identify myself as in todays society. I've used the word Plastic in high school that's what the girls would refer me to because I only knew little knowledge about where i come from and my homeland. It sometimes makes me question who i really am in this society today. So i want to look at what i would identify myself as today.
